Castrophany - About the mp3 Rotation » Unquiet, now known as Castrophany, has been moved around quite a bit since it was first launched on July 31, 2005. Unquiet was originally hosted on my collective penguin-project.net, but it was moved over to my personal domain when it expired in early 2007. I updated Unquiet a couple of times after the move, but in the past year I haven't really had the time or the motivation, so it just chillaxed in a corner, alone and unupdated. I finally sat down and thought about it, and I realized that the reason I didn't care as much for this project anymore was because 1. the layout was coded for IE instead of Firefox and it would have been annoying to fix, and 2. I just wasn't really into the name anymore.» So now that it's summer break and I have time, I decided to revive this side project. New name, new domain, new layout, and new rotation style. The name, "Castrophany," is a portmanteau of the words cacophany and catastrophe and comes from the song "Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head" by Gorillaz. » The purpose of Castrophany is still the same as it was when it was first launched almost three years ago - to provide visitors with samples of English songs and hopefully show them something new. I'll always provide short descriptions about the songs, but one thing that has changed is that I'm not going to put up lyrics any more because it took too much time to find/format them and not that many people ended up looking at them. This website was inspired (somewhat) by Risa and Smos because I always want to burn cds for them but forget or become too lazy to do so. Enjoy! » Castrophany is run and maintained by Agent Penguin. Castrophany - About the Layout » The current layout came from playing around with different shapes in photoshop. I realized after I made it that it looks kind of like a walkman theme because of the colors and the circles - but it wasn't intened to -_- Whoops. The layout was created in Adobe Photoshop CS and the fonts used were Punk Kid and Terminal.Site best viewed in Mozilla Firefox |
